Discrepancy Between the Price of Domestic Heating Oil at the Time of Order and at the Time of Delivery

Whether the trader may charge you a different price at the time of delivery of heating oil depends on the contract you entered into.

If you have agreed on a fixed price, that price remains fixed at the time of delivery.

In most cases, however, your contract contains a clause stating that the price may change depending on the evolution of maximum prices. If the maximum prices in the market have risen, you will have to pay more at the time of delivery than originally agreed upon.

That arrangement works both ways, so if the maximum prices have fallen, you will have to pay less at the time of delivery.
