Food Product with a Health Risk
If you have ingested or bought a food product that may pose a health risk, you may contact the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FASFC). The agency is tasked with overseeing the safety of food products and items intended to come into contact with food (such as cutlery and plates) in Belgium.
You can report a hazardous food item to the FASFC:
- by phone at the free number 0800 13 550.
- online via the FASFC website
- by e-mail at pointdecontact@afsca.be
When reporting a hazardous food item, it is important to provide as many details as possible, such as:
- the purchase date
- the name of the brand
- the product description
- a clear description of the food safety problem you encountered
The FASFC will investigate your report and take the necessary measures to ensure food safety in Belgium. Consult a doctor if you are concerned about your health after consuming a food product.
