Offering Electronic Means of Payment is Mandatory
All businesses in contact with consumers must offer at least one electronic means of payment. This also applies to liberal professions, associations, sports clubs, etc.
To meet this obligation, businesses may choose from several technical solutions:
- fixed or portable payment terminals
- contactless payments via smartphone, smartwatch etc.
- a QR code via a banking app
- a bank account number at the checkout for the consumer to make a transfer.
Payments by meal vouchers, eco vouchers, consumption vouchers, and crypto tokens are not considered electronic means of payment, even when made by card.
