Energy Bill or Other Communication From a Supplier with Whom You Have Not Entered Into a Contract.

There are several possible explanations, of which the most common are:

  • Your energy supply appears to have been transferred to another supplier without your consent or knowledge.
  • If you have never entered into an agreement with the company, it may be a mistake.
  • An energy supplier signed you up as a customer for that energy contract without your consent.
  • After a move, you may not be supplied by your own supplier (whom you clearly informed about your change of address), but by the supplier of the previous occupant.

In such cases, you should first contact the supplier from whom you mistakenly received an invoice or another message indicating that you had become a customer. If their response is not satisfactory, then contact the supplier you believe you have an energy contract and provide your consumer address.

Is there any evidence of fraud? In that case, contact the relevant supplier. This supplier is legally required to provide you with all supporting documents and necessary information to dispute the debt. Do not pay anything until you are certain that you have actually entered into an agreement with that business.

It could also be a scam, where someone sends invoices on behalf of a company in an attempt to collect money fraudulently.
